Questions?

Are you open?

Fright Furnace has been shut down and will no longer be produced.

What time do you open/close?

Fright Furnace starts selling tickets at sundown and closes when the last group leaves. We stop selling tickets on 10:30 p.m. on weeknight and Midnight on weekends.

Why do my tickets say 6 PM?

If purchasing tickets online at Ticketmaster, your tickets will give an event time of 6 PM.  This is the time the furnace opens, you can come anytime on the date of your ticket before 10:30 PM to gain entrance.  (Ie, 7 PM, 8:30 PM, 9 PM, etc.)

How do I get to the furnace?

Please visit our directions area for maps and directions to Fright Furnace.

How long is the trail?

Fright Furnace offers two trails. The furnace trail is 1/2 mile of blood-curdling terror, and usually takes between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on how fast you can run. Outbreak 2 is our new expanded trail through the Sloss Woods and takes between 20-30 minutes.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets may be purchased at the event, or you can order advance tickets through ticketmaster, or even order group tickets. For more information Visit our Ticket Section.

How much is parking?

$5 per vehicle.

I am driving my kids there/I don’t want to go through the trail — Do I still have to pay?

No. You can enter the Roadkill Cafe FREE so you can watch movies, play games, eat, drink, and be social.

Will any of the creatures touch me?

Not if you don’t touch them.

What happens if I touch/hit a creature?

There are a lot more of them then there are of you, and they know where to hide, so you can probably expect some revenge later down the trail. In addition, there is security personnel throughout the site that will be notified of your actions–which can lead to you being forcibly ejected from the trail (at the very least) and arrest and detention (for severe cases). Just keep your hands to yourself.

Do you take Credit Cards?

Yes, we do take credit cards on site or in advance for group tickets here on our site.

What is the usual wait in line?

Depends on several factors including the time and the day. However Fright Furnace is different from most haunted attractions since you receive a pass when you first arrive, so you can spend your time in our Roadkill Cafe watching scary movies, playing games, getting your palm read, watching entertainment, etc. When it is time for your group to go through, we will announce it.

Is there an age limit?

We leave that up to parents and guardians. We have had 6 year olds go through the site unfazed, and watched as 30 year olds have been carried out after fainting. Although if this was a movie, we would rate it PG-13.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the day you visit. Please visit our tickets area for prices.

Can I Bring A Camera, Tape-Recorder, Camcorder?

Sorry, no. It is our policy to confiscate all recording equipment before taking a tour through the furnace. No exceptions. Best to leave it at home. Mobile phones are OK though.

What if it rains?

We have only closed the trail once due to bad weather. Basically, we stay open unless there is a chance of a lightning strike. Hey, if a little bit of water scares you, you are coming to the wrong place!

Is the trail wheelchair accessible?

No. The furnace was built in the 1800’s so there are lots of twists, turns, stairs, small passageways, catwalks, etc.

Should someone who is pregnant go through?

It is not recommended, but we leave it up to you.

Do you use Smoke Machines and Strobes?

Yep, and lasers, and blacklights, and explosions, and fire, and even a 10,000 volt tesla coil.

I heard something about Snakes?

You may encounter snakes, rats, cockroaches, and even bats.

How do I get to work at Fright Furnace?

Auditions for will be held in July/August, you can find out more and join our email list by putting your email in on the form on this page and you will be notified about auditions.

I have a group that wants to come.

Is Sloss Furnace really haunted?

Yes. Very much so.

Really?

Well, the National Association of Psychics thinks so, so do at least dozens of prominent Paranormal Investigation Teams, and hundreds of witnesses who have had sightings. Come see for yourself.
